Bishop's Parish Visitations


DESCRIPTION

A programme of visitation to enable the bishop to acquaint himself with the life of individual parishes.

FUNCTION

1. An opportunity to focus on the life of the parish by way of support and encouragement to the Parish Priest and the whole of the     parish family.

2. Visiting the parish school and meeting with students and teachers in their own environment.

3. Visiting and meeting with various people in the parish i.e. the sick and elderly, parish leaders, parish council and proprietor’s         representatives on Board of Trustees.

POLICY

To visit all parishes over a period of three years.

Profile prepared by diocesan staff re history, finances, report on school, youth activities, and property report etc. provided prior to each visit to assist bishop
