Parish Allocations

DESCRIPTION

Parish allocations are the contributions from parishes towards the finances of the National Catholic Church and the Diocese. The allocations are paid from the second collection (Parish A/c).


FUNCTION

Parish allocations are a funding source for National Diocesan wide apostolate and activities


POLICY

The rate of parish allocations is set by the Bishop at the beginning of each financial year. Currently it is 21% of the second collection income of each parish. Parish allocations are payable in four equal instalments which are due in March, June, September and December each year. Notification of the amount due is advised each quarter by the Diocesan office. Parish allocations are exempt from GST.
